Head off to the spectacular largest equestrian sculpture in the world- The Mustangs of Las Colinas. Head off to Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center that showcases the history of the oldest African-American community in the area. This heritage museum features the cultural and political history of the area settled in 1850 by emancipated slaves. The Heritage Center encompasses a native plant garden, three buildings and a pavilion. Each of the building features history of Bear Creek community. The J.O. David House features chronicles the story of Bear Creek Community through exhibits and photographs. The Sam Green House features period furnishings, signage and artifacts. The Bear Creek Masonic Lodge building features the experience of African-American from the time of liberation through the 1950s-60s Civil Rights Movement.
