Irving is centrally located between the west and east coasts, making it easily accessible. It is less than a 3.5 hours flight from any major airport in North American cities. Irving is accessible from six main highways and by rail services to downtown Dallas, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and downtown Fort Worth. The city is served by many bus routes

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) serves Irving. The city is bordered on the northwest by DFW. It is one of the busiest and largest airports in the world. From DFW, getting to Irving is easy through John Carpenter Expressway (Texas State Highway 114), Airport Freeway (Texas State Highway 183), and Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway (I-635).

Another airport that serves Irving is Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) . It is only minutes away from Irving. The airport is in northwest of downtown Dallas.  Airlines serving the Dallas Love Field Airport are Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines. To get to Irving from Dallas Love Field, DART bus service is available between Inwood-Love Field Station and DAL, offering a link between DART Rail orange and green line and love field terminal.

Getting to Irving by Car

Irving close proximity to every main freeway in the Dallas/Fort Worth region makes it one of the convenient and easiest cities to traverse. The city is served by several highways. It is traversed by State highway 183 (Airport Freeway) that runs east-west, Interstate-635 (LBJ Freeway), the President George Bush Turnpike, and the State highway 114 (John Carpenter Freeway).

Getting to Irving by Chartered and Mass Transit

Visitors can reach Irving by chartered and mass transit. Dallas Area Rapid Transit provides bus and train service to Irving. You can travel to Irving through the Orange Line Light Rail System from DFW Airport or Downtown Dallas.

Visitors can gain access to Irving restaurants, businesses, residences and hotels situated around Las Colinas area via Area Personal Transit System (APT). It is a climate-controlled people mover system serving the Las Colinas Urban Center of Irving.

Irving has a modern and well-developed road and highway system as well as public bus service. It is easy to navigate around the city. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit System (DART) serves the city. The DART includes a subway system, commuter trains, rapid transit and buses. The city also has a great taxi and car rental services.

The Dallas Area Rapid Transportation system offers bus service in Irving. The DART offers local and express bus service. Buses run 7 days a week, every 30 minutes in peak hours and during off-peak time, they run every 60 minutes. Local and regional passes are available.
